Sustainability
We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children
At Logan Lubricants we take our planet seriously. As its custodians we should look after it responsibly. That’s we choose the most eco-friendly solution whenever possible. From recycling our packaging and focusing on circular oils to eco-friendly and Environmentally Acceptable Lubricants (EAL’s), we always aim for a better world.
Our Sustainability program is built on 4 pillars:
Reduction of Friction and use of Lubricants and Greases
Environmentally Acceptable Lubricants (EAL) or Eco-Friendly Lubricants
Circular Economy
Sustainable Packaging
Reduction of Friction and use of Lubricants and Greases
Through groundbreaking new technologies, we have been able to design new lubricants and greases with a lower coefficient of friction. As a result, less energy is required which impacts positively on efficiency and on the environment.
With the use of new additive technology, we have also been able to give the lubricants and greases a longer lifetime of up to 100%. This means less use of products and so less environmental impact. It’s win-win.
Environmentally Acceptable Lubricants (EAL) or Eco-Friendly Lubricants
As part of our corporate environmental responsibility (CER), we engineered our EAL lubricants to offer high performance, better protection and a longer lifetime. This will have a positive impact on the environment, meet new regulations and help customers with their ESG projects. Our lubricants are formulated to biodegrade quickly, contain fewer toxic substances and include renewable base oils. They also have a lower carbon footprint of up to 70% compared with conventional base oils. Our products with fully saturated esters have a lifetime up 8 times more than conventional base oils.
We have a full product portfolio for Marine, Agriculture, Offshore, Wind, Mining and Off-road applications with Eco Label, Vessel General Permit (VGP), HEES and NSF certificates
Circular Economy
From every 2 litres of used oil, we can make at least 1 litre of new oil. Why throw away or burn used oil when there’s enormous value to be had which can massively reduce waste. Through the Logan Exchange program we work closely together with certified companies to collect and regenerate new Lubricants. We then make them available for communities to use. It’s a fully closed loop with a great impact on the environment.
To regenerate the used oil, we use a very sophisticated distillation process where the base oil is fully purified and highly treated to give even better performance capabilities than base oils made from crude oil. That’s why we can now offer Regenerated Lubricants with OEM approvals. It’s a reduction of 50% waste and a 30% lower carbon footprint.
Sustainable Packaging
We understand how important it is to reduce the amount of plastic waste. That’s why we work with Partners collecting plastic waste and producing recycled feedstock to produce new plastic cans. Currently we use up to 50% of recycled plastic in our cans and we’re aiming to increase this to 100%.
We also looking to new opportunities for our packaging like our Bag-in-Box packaging for 10, 15 and 20 litres. With this we have achieved 100% recyclable packaging, 89% reduction of plastic and 90% reduction of waste compared to traditional plastic packaging. On top of that there’s a 75% smaller carbon footprint reduction with a 95% decrease in the consumption of “new plastic”.
At Logan we’re determined to actively and responsibly contribute to sustainability. That’s why we’re continuously investing in the new technologies and opportunities to achieve our aims. The Logan Sustainability program offers a clear path forward for sustainable lubrication by reducing resource consumption, minimizing waste, and lowering environmental impact.
We’re Logan, we’re different.
